Winter Scenery Tours - A highlight with many of our guests. Enjoy a winter holiday from December 1 to March 31. Tours are scheduled to coincide with our guests' requirements. Travel by vehicle or on horseback when weather permits to view the snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies and the abundant wildlife. Ask about our meals and accommodations.

Snowmobiling Tours - Bring your own snowmobile and ride the numerous trails in the untouched wilderness in the deep foothills of our Alberta Rockies. (Due to liability reasons you must supply your own snow machine).

Cross Country Skiing - Cross-country ski along the Panther River or travel by vehicle to various neighbouring areas of the Burnt Timber, Wig Wam Creek and Wildhorse. You must bring your own boots and skis.

You will see some of the most beautiful scenery in Alberta's Rockies.Guides for snowmobiling and cross-country skiing are available if desired.

Wildlife Photography - Photograph wildlife in their natural winter habitat. Travel by vehicle or hike on the Ya Ha Tinda Ranch and film elk herds numbering up to 2500 head or Bighorn sheep on their winter range. There are excellent opportunities to sight moose and deer as well.

Wild Horse Photography - Sunset also offers Wild Horse Photography in the winter months. Travel by vehicle or on horseback when weather permits to photograph or film the wild horses roaming freely in the many areas near the Panther River Retreat.
